Amazon Lending expands its offering

Having seen a tip off from a Tamebay reader, it looks like Amazon Lending has taken a great leap forward that’s available to Amazon merchants in the UK. You’ll be familiar with Amazon Lending: it’s where Amazon will offer you a loan directly in Seller Central. They base what they offer, and the terms, on what they know about you. And if you’re an Amazon seller with even a modest trading track-record they know you pretty well.

Alibaba signs deal with Mexico to connect businesses with China

Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto and Alibaba Group Executive Chairman Jack Ma have witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding that will bring the Chinese company’s e-commerce, digital payments and logistics expertise to Mexican small- and mid-sized enterprises, allowing them to expand into international markets—in particular, China.

Has anyone been billed for an eBay sale that didn’t happen?

eBay are cracking down on buyers and sellers swapping contact details in eBay Messages but there’s one clause in their policies which I’ve not yet seen implemented. eBay reserve the right to charge you a final value fee (even if a sale didn’t take place) if contact details are exchanged.

Amazon reduce transit time promise for sellers who deliver fast

We wrote recently that Amazon are uppping their delivery expectations from sellers who they say are already serving customers with fast despatch and despatching swiftly. Amazon are defaulting Handling Time to 1 day for new products for many sellers. They are also changing the default transit time for standard shipping to 2-3 days for delivery to the UK mainland (previously 3-5 days) and 5-7 days for delivery of items sold on other Amazon EU marketplaces (varied by country but previously was up to 9 or 10 days) for some sellers.

eBay Collections to be ‘scrapped’

Curated galleries of imagery found on eBay, dubbed as eBay Collections, are to be all but scrapped, it seems. Billed as an engaging tool for shoppers and a way to showcase eBay’s more eclectic selection of inventory, thematic collections were heavily promoted in search and also the eBay homepage.
