GIA India Offers Seminar in Jammu on ‘Allure of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald’. To help ensure public trust in gems and jewellery, GIA India organised an education seminar on “Allure of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald” for members of the trade in Jammu on Dec. 21. More than 40 members from Sarafa Association, Jammu, attended to gain important information on the big three gemstones. GJEPC- DDE to Ink Agreement on Dec 20 in Jaipur Enabling DMCC Members to Enrol in MyKYCBank

The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) – a subsidiary of DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) – will be signing an agreement with The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) to join the MyKYCBank platform. The agreement will be signed by Pramod Kumar Agrawal, GJEPC Chairman and Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC on December 20, 2018 at Rambagh Palace, Jaipur. DMCC will be the fourth trade body to join MyKYCBank, following GJEPC, Bharat Diamond Bourse and the Antwerp World Diamond Council. Under the agreement, members of the DMCC engaged in trading diamonds, gold or precious stones will be eligible to join the MyKYCBank platform. Membership is restricted to companies that are part of a G&J industry body that is already affiliated to the platform. Currently, over 2,200 companies have completed the ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’ compliance process on MyKYCBank. BENGALURU: The Indian arm of global e-tail major Amazon will host ‘Small Business Day’ online shopping event on December 16 to promote small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) and micro-entrepreneurs in the country, the company said on Monday. “Through the event, we aim to promote small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs and encourage shoppers to discover and buy products directly offered by them,” Amazon India said in a statement here. The one-day online sale, starting from the midnight of December 16, is expected to see the participation of thousands of small business owners from across the country, Amazon said. The company, which claimed the event to be the first-of-its-kind online sale dedicated for small businesses in the country, however, did not disclose the exact number

‘Tiffany Robot Crew’ to tour London during the festive season

Tiffany & Co unveiled a large-scale installation at its store in Covent Garden, which will then travel around London. Nodding to its new marketing campaign ‘Christmas Made by Tiffany’, which imagines the ‘magical’ construction scenes at the brand’s workshop during the busy season, Tiffany & Co has created an installation of interactive robots that have premiered in Covent Garden. The robots, adorned in the brand’s trademark colour, have been named the Tiffany Robot Crew and will move around London during the holidays. Complete with a giant boom box, the installation plays famous festive tunes with a twist, and allows customers to interact with the brand on social media and have a message appear on the main robot’s stomach.
